Jain scripture is transmitted differently by its two major traditions — the Śvetāmbara Āgamas and the Digambara canon — alongside texts both sects accept.
The canon as preserved by the Śvetāmbara tradition: the Aṅgas, Upāṅgas, Chedasūtras, Mūlasūtras and Prakīrṇakas.
The Digambara tradition does not accept the Śvetāmbara Āgamas as authentic; its earliest surviving canonical works are the Ṣaṭkhaṇḍāgama and the Kaṣāyaprābhṛta.
Umāsvāti's systematic summary of Jain philosophy, uniquely accepted as authoritative by both the Śvetāmbara and Digambara traditions.
Biographical accounts of the Jain Tīrthaṅkaras, especially Mahāvīra and Pārśvanātha — central to the annual Paryuṣaṇa festival readings.
This page is deliberately structured, not exhaustive — regional Prakrit commentarial literature is a natural next addition.
